I'm a User Experience Designer passionate about creating products and experiences that make our world a better place. In my 10+ years working with startups and non-profit organizations, I've learned to "find the duct tape"—the less-than-ideal solutions people invent to make ends meet. As a designer, I search for the duct tape and help create new, innovative ways to solve those challenges.

I bring a wide range of experiences to my design work. Some of my unique experiences include living and teaching in China for four years; designing and directing an English Summer Camp for rural Chinese students; leading a workshop on Human Centered Design in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; encouraging female designers in Seattle to take risks; winning a hackathon to help disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline; securing several awards for my previous company’s ground-breaking mobile app, designed alongside IDEO.org; and working with county and federal governments to improve their products.

All of these experiences have taught me to be open-minded and approach projects with a “Yes, and” attitude—one that welcomes the opportunity to innovate and breathe life into new ideas.

Outside of design, I love to dance salsa, hike in the Cascades, help out at my local park, practice lettering, and play with my dog Maya. Contact me at kfaiferlick@gmail.com to discuss working together or to find a great Salsa club in Seattle!
