CAMEO Software Website
A website sharing CAMEO software, designed for emergency planners and responders
Overview
In my role at NOAA, I’ve led the design of two desktop programs: Tier2 Submit and CAMEO Data Manager. These programs are part of a suite of emergency planning and response software called the CAMEO software suite. This website—to be launched in late 2022—will be the home for these and three other programs in the CAMEO software suite. I designed the interface of the site, including various elements and page templates that would be used to create future content on the site.
This page is still a work in progress, but here’s a sample of what’s to come!
Process
My team consisted of the CAMEO Program Manager, our Project Manager and Developer, a Content Strategist, and myself, the UI Designer. I began by:
Understanding the site objective and requirements—what we needed to accomplish in order to consider the site a success
Surveying existing content and desired content
Collaborating on a vision board to align on the look and feel of the site
Running a domain analysis to understand how other government sites and other emergency planning software tools presented their content
Wireframes
For each of our main pages, including the home and product page, I constructed several wireframe options to present for feedback. Below are the wireframe options I presented for our product page.
Mockups
The team provided feedback and I wove their suggestions into a series of higher fidelity mockups for the product page, shown below.
Final Product
The site is set to launch in late 2022! More content will be added soon… stay tuned!
